3. Don’t skip breakfast
The last thing you want is to be hungry in your morning class or study session. Eating a balanced breakfast is important for blood sugar regulation. This will help give you energy, help with your attentiveness, and help prevent the afternoon slump.

Vegetables and fruits contain micronutrients that are important for healthy body functions. To ensure that you are supporting your body even while away at college, make sure you are eating fruits and vegetables daily or at least try to eat vegetables every day.

- Making sure there are at least two different vegetables on your plate at the dining hall

When deciding on what type of meat to eat, choose grilled or baked.
8. Avoid energy drinks
When I was a freshman in college, I had my share of energy drinks. Not because I bought them at the store, but because there were being given out for free around campus.
Energy drinks are loaded with sugar, artificial flavors, and preservatives. Not to mention that they can contribute to the afternoon slump. For healthy alternatives, try out matcha, kombucha, or tea.
9. Enjoy your food
Enjoying your food is a big part of having healthy digestion. And not only that, who wants to eat food that they don’t enjoy? If you don’t enjoy eating broccoli and baked chicken every day then don’t eat broccoli and baked chicken every day. But hey sometimes on a college student’s budget you don’t have much of a choice, am I right? My point is enjoying your food is important.
10. Don’t stress if you eat fast food every now and then
